Regularization of a contingent worker, herein, working as Pumpmancum- Chowkidar, reported by the departmental authorities that he is working only for 6 hours even though the employee Pumpman states that he is working for 8 to 10 hours a day, cannot be regularized in view of the direction of the Apex Court in the case of Secretary, State of Karnataka and others v. Umadevi (3) and others [ 2006 (4) SCC 1 ] — O.A. No. 168 of 2013: Case challenging non-regularization of a Pumpmancum-Chowkidar, citing irregular employment conditions and non-compliance with Constitutional Bench decision in Secretary, State o... — Facts: This OA is filed by the Applicant working as Pumpmancum- Chowkidar against non-consideration of his case either to confer temporary status in Group 'D' or to absorb him in the post of Gramin Dak Sevak (GDS) or as full time Group 'D'/Multi-Tasking Staff (MTS). It is not necessary to keep writing the various Court orders and other details as mentioned in the judgment. The relevant judgment of Apex Court followed in this case is the one Secretary, State of Karnataka and others v. Umadevi and others [ 2006 (4) SCC ].
