What This Means
Green Tracing Slips (Form 41) are compared against cards in the Suspense, Discontinued Subscribers, Transfer, and Closed Accounts pads to find the matching ledger card. Once paired, the previous month's closing balance is noted on the slip, the subscriber's new district is updated on the card and Index Register, and the card is moved to the correct district pad. Unpaired slips are recorded in the Unpaired Green Slip list (Form 44), and remaining unpaired cards in the Suspense pad are transferred to Discontinued Subscribers or Closed Accounts pads.

The clerk checks the Suspense pad and finds the matching card, which was from Indore. The previous month's closing balance of Rs. 1,25,000 is noted on the slip, the card is updated with 'Bhopal' as the new district, the Index Register is corrected, and the card is placed in the Bhopal district pad. Three other slips cannot be paired — they are recorded in Form 44 for further investigation.
