Applicant, a serving Postmaster having been issued a charge sheet under Rule 16 of the CCS (CCA) Rules, 1965 was inflicted with a punishment of reduction of pay by one stage in the pay matrix level from ₹ 56,900 to ₹ 55,200. Applicant had filed an appeal to higher authorities against the punishment which is pending. The Tribunal directed the Appellate Authority t... — Facts : Applicant, a Postal Department Official, serving as Sub-Postmaster at Sarbhog Sub Office was issued with a Memorandum of charges under Rule No. 16 of the CCS (CCA) Rules, 1965 and punished by reduction of pay by one stage in pay matrix level 6 from ₹ 56,900 to ₹ 55,200 by R-4, the Superintendent of Post Office, Nalbari, Barpeta Division. Applicant is punished for his lapses by reduction of pay from ₹ 56,900 to 55,200. The Applicants submit that no enquiry was made before issuing the punishment order. On receipt of punishment he filed an appeal, dated 18-12-2018 against that order to Director of Post Offices, R-3 herein, which is pending for disposal. He filed this OA before his appeal is disposed of praying to set aside the charge sheet, dated 29-8-2018 with all consequential benefits.
