#### 4. Question
In a election only two candidates contested. 30% of the registered votes did not cast their votes and 360votes were declared invalid . the winner got 1368 votes more than his opponent. The number of valid votes received by the winner is 42% of the number of registered votes. How many registered votes cast their votes.
Answer: (a) 5040
Explanation:
Total valid votes =70x/100 -360
= 7x/10 -360
42x/100 –[(7x/10 – 360) -42x/100]=1368
On solving we get,
Required registered votes cast their votes=7200*70/100=5040
Answer: (a) 5040
Explanation:
Total valid votes =70x/100 -360
= 7x/10 -360
42x/100 –[(7x/10 – 360) -42x/100]=1368
On solving we get,
Required registered votes cast their votes=7200*70/100=5040
