How many revolutions per minute must the wheel make so that the speed of the car is kept at 120 km/h? a) 326.42 b) 245 c) 303.03 d) 289 Correct Answer: C Explanation One revolution= 2πr= 222/7210/2 =2230 Diameter of wheel = 210 cm Speed of car = 120 km/h Distance covered by car in 1 hour = 120 km i.e. in 60 min distance covered = 12000000cm In 1 min distance covered =12000000/60 = 200000cm Number of revolution taken by when per minute to cover 200000 cm = (200000)/ (2230)=303.0303 Incorrect Answer: C Explanation One revolution= 2πr= 222/7210/2 =2230 Diameter of wheel = 210 cm Speed of car = 120 km/h Distance covered by car in 1 hour = 120 km i.e. in 60 min distance covered = 12000000cm In 1 min distance covered =12000000/60 = 200000cm Number of revolution taken by when per minute to cover 200000 cm = (200000)/ (2230)=303.0303

#### 1. Question

The wheel of a car has 210 cm diameter. How many revolutions per minute must the wheel make so that the speed of the car is kept at 120 km/h?

Explanation

One revolution= 2πr= 222/7210/2 =22*30

Diameter of wheel = 210 cm

Speed of car = 120 km/h

Distance covered by car in 1 hour = 120 km i.e. in 60 min distance covered = 12000000cm

In 1 min distance covered =12000000/60 = 200000cm

Number of revolution taken by when per minute to cover 200000 cm = (200000)/ (22*30)=303.0303

Explanation

One revolution= 2πr= 222/7210/2 =22*30

Diameter of wheel = 210 cm

Speed of car = 120 km/h

Distance covered by car in 1 hour = 120 km i.e. in 60 min distance covered = 12000000cm

In 1 min distance covered =12000000/60 = 200000cm

Number of revolution taken by when per minute to cover 200000 cm = (200000)/ (22*30)=303.0303

What is the length of its diagonal? a) 60 m b) 1800 m c) 180 m d) 120 m Correct Answer: D Explanation Area of square a2 = 7200; a=60√2 Length of the diagonal =√2 a =>60√2 √2 =>60 2 =120 Incorrect Answer: D Explanation Area of square a2 = 7200; a=60√2 Length of the diagonal =√2 a =>60√2 √2 =>60 2 =120

#### 2. Question

The area of a square field is 7200 m2. What is the length of its diagonal?

Explanation

Area of square a2 = 7200; a=60√2

Length of the diagonal =√2 a =>60√2 √2 =>60 2 =120

Explanation

Area of square a2 = 7200; a=60√2

Length of the diagonal =√2 a =>60√2 √2 =>60 2 =120

Only Statement 1 is correct.

Solution: a)

Only Statement 1 is correct.

• Question 4 of 5 4. Question The volume of a tank is 72 cubic meters. Water is poured into it at the rate of 60 litres per minute. How much time will it take to fill the tank? a) 6 hours b) 20 hours c) 12 hours d) 10hours Correct Answer: B Explanation Volume of tank = 72 cubic meter = 72000 litre Rate of filling = 60 litre per min =>6060 litres per hour Required time =72000/ (6060) = 20 hours Incorrect Answer: B Explanation Volume of tank = 72 cubic meter = 72000 litre Rate of filling = 60 litre per min =>6060 litres per hour Required time =72000/ (6060) = 20 hours

#### 4. Question

The volume of a tank is 72 cubic meters. Water is poured into it at the rate of 60 litres per minute. How much time will it take to fill the tank?

• a) 6 hours

• b) 20 hours

• c) 12 hours

• d) 10hours

Explanation

Volume of tank = 72 cubic meter = 72000 litre

Rate of filling = 60 litre per min =>60*60 litres per hour

Required time =72000/ (60*60) = 20 hours

Explanation

Volume of tank = 72 cubic meter = 72000 litre

Rate of filling = 60 litre per min =>60*60 litres per hour

Required time =72000/ (60*60) = 20 hours

• Question 5 of 5 5. Question The diameter of a wheel is 49 cm. The number of revolutions in which it will have to cover a distance of 770 m, is: A. 400 B. 600 C. 700 D. 500 Correct Answer: D Explanation Radius of wheel= 49/200m Circumference of circle (One revolution)= 2πr = 2 22/7 49/200 =227/100 Number of revolution= 770/ (22 7/100) = 77000/227 = 500 Incorrect Answer: D Explanation Radius of wheel= 49/200m Circumference of circle (One revolution)= 2πr = 2 22/7 49/200 =227/100 Number of revolution= 770/ (22 7/100) = 77000/227 = 500

#### 5. Question

The diameter of a wheel is 49 cm. The number of revolutions in which it will have to cover a distance of 770 m, is:

Explanation

Radius of wheel= 49/200m

Circumference of circle (One revolution)= 2πr = 2 22/7 49/200 =22*7/100

Number of revolution= 770/ (22 7/100) = 77000/227 = 500

Explanation

Radius of wheel= 49/200m

Circumference of circle (One revolution)= 2πr = 2 22/7 49/200 =22*7/100
