• Question 1 of 5 1. Question In a certain code language “EASY” is written as “5117”. In the same code language, how will “BEAM” be written as? a) 4512 b) 4567 c) 2513 d) 2514 Correct Answer: D Explanation EASY → E is the 5th alphabet in the series A is the first alphabet in the series S is the 19th alphabet, which makes it (1+9 = 10 ⇒ 1+0 = 1) Y is the 25th alphabet, which makes it (2+5 = 7) Hence, EASY = 5117 Similarly, BEAM → B is the 2nd alphabet in the series E is the 5th alphabet in the series A is the 1st alphabet in the series M is the 13th alphabet, which makes it (1+3 = 4) Hence BEAM = 2514 Incorrect Answer: D Explanation EASY → E is the 5th alphabet in the series A is the first alphabet in the series S is the 19th alphabet, which makes it (1+9 = 10 ⇒ 1+0 = 1) Y is the 25th alphabet, which makes it (2+5 = 7) Hence, EASY = 5117 Similarly, BEAM → B is the 2nd alphabet in the series E is the 5th alphabet in the series A is the 1st alphabet in the series M is the 13th alphabet, which makes it (1+3 = 4) Hence BEAM = 2514

#### 1. Question

In a certain code language “EASY” is written as “5117”. In the same code language, how will “BEAM” be written as?

Explanation

EASY → E is the 5th alphabet in the series

A is the first alphabet in the series

S is the 19th alphabet, which makes it (1+9 = 10 ⇒ 1+0 = 1)

Y is the 25th alphabet, which makes it (2+5 = 7)

Hence, EASY = 5117

Similarly,

BEAM → B is the 2nd alphabet in the series

E is the 5th alphabet in the series

A is the 1st alphabet in the series

M is the 13th alphabet, which makes it (1+3 = 4)

Hence BEAM = 2514

• Question 2 of 5 2. Question “SPECIAL” is written as “65” in a certain code language what will “CONNECT” be coded as? a) 70 b) 64 c) 32 d) 74 Correct Answer: D Explanation SPECIAL → Sum of the place value of each alphabet in the alphabetical order SPECIAL = 19+16+5+3+9+1+12 = 65 So, CONNECT = 3+15+14+14+5+3+20 = 74 Incorrect Answer: D Explanation SPECIAL → Sum of the place value of each alphabet in the alphabetical order SPECIAL = 19+16+5+3+9+1+12 = 65 So, CONNECT = 3+15+14+14+5+3+20 = 74

#### 2. Question

“SPECIAL” is written as “65” in a certain code language what will “CONNECT” be coded as?

Explanation

SPECIAL → Sum of the place value of each alphabet in the alphabetical order

SPECIAL = 19+16+5+3+9+1+12 = 65

So, CONNECT = 3+15+14+14+5+3+20 = 74

Explanation

SPECIAL → Sum of the place value of each alphabet in the alphabetical order

SPECIAL = 19+16+5+3+9+1+12 = 65

So, CONNECT = 3+15+14+14+5+3+20 = 74

• Question 3 of 5 3. Question If ‘BEAUTIFUL’ is coded as ‘97’ in a code language, then what will be the code for ‘WONDERFUL’? a) 87 b) 99 c) 118 d) 121 Correct Answer: C Explanation Given code: BEAUTIFUL → 97 The alphabetical position of letter as follows Sum of these numbers = 2 + 5 + 1 + 21 + 20 + 9 + 6 + 21 + 12 = 97 So, word ‘BEAUTIFUL’ will be coded as ‘97’. Applying the similar concept in ‘WONDERFUL So, sum of these numbers = 23 + 15 + 14 + 4 + 5 + 18 + 6 + 21 + 12 = 118 So, word ‘WONDERFUL’ will be coded as ‘118’. Incorrect Answer: C Explanation Given code: BEAUTIFUL → 97 The alphabetical position of letter as follows Sum of these numbers = 2 + 5 + 1 + 21 + 20 + 9 + 6 + 21 + 12 = 97 So, word ‘BEAUTIFUL’ will be coded as ‘97’. Applying the similar concept in ‘WONDERFUL So, sum of these numbers = 23 + 15 + 14 + 4 + 5 + 18 + 6 + 21 + 12 = 118 So, word ‘WONDERFUL’ will be coded as ‘118’.

#### 3. Question

If ‘BEAUTIFUL’ is coded as ‘97’ in a code language, then what will be the code for ‘WONDERFUL’?

Explanation

Given code:

BEAUTIFUL → 97

The alphabetical position of letter as follows

Sum of these numbers = 2 + 5 + 1 + 21 + 20 + 9 + 6 + 21 + 12 = 97

So, word ‘BEAUTIFUL’ will be coded as ‘97’.

Applying the similar concept in ‘WONDERFUL

So, sum of these numbers = 23 + 15 + 14 + 4 + 5 + 18 + 6 + 21 + 12 = 118

So, word ‘WONDERFUL’ will be coded as ‘118’.

Explanation

Given code:

BEAUTIFUL → 97

The alphabetical position of letter as follows

Sum of these numbers = 2 + 5 + 1 + 21 + 20 + 9 + 6 + 21 + 12 = 97

So, word ‘BEAUTIFUL’ will be coded as ‘97’.

Applying the similar concept in ‘WONDERFUL

So, sum of these numbers = 23 + 15 + 14 + 4 + 5 + 18 + 6 + 21 + 12 = 118

So, word ‘WONDERFUL’ will be coded as ‘118’.
