#### 1. Question
The average of 7 consecutive integers starting with P is Q. What is the average of 4 consecutive integers starting with (P+2)?
• a) (2Q+1)/2
• b) (3Q+1)/2
• c) (4Q+3)/2
• d) (Q+1)/2
Answer: (a)
Explanation:
Let 7 consecutive integers be,
P, P+1, P+2, P+3, P+4, P+5, P+6
Average of these 7 consecutive integers =Q
P=Q-3 —————-(equation1)
Now, the average of 4 consecutive numbers starting with (P+2)
(P+2+P+3+P+4+P+5)/4 =4P+14/4
(4P+14)/4 = (4(Q-3)+14)/4=(4Q-12+14)/4 =(4Q+2)/4=(2Q+1)/2
Answer: (a)
Explanation:
Let 7 consecutive integers be,
P, P+1, P+2, P+3, P+4, P+5, P+6
Average of these 7 consecutive integers =Q
P=Q-3 —————-(equation1)
Now, the average of 4 consecutive numbers starting with (P+2)
(P+2+P+3+P+4+P+5)/4 =4P+14/4
(4P+14)/4 = (4(Q-3)+14)/4=(4Q-12+14)/4 =(4Q+2)/4=(2Q+1)/2

#### 2. Question
The average temperature at Bengaluru for Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday was 500 c while for Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday it was 520 c. if the temperature on Thursday was 540c, what was the temperature on Monday in Fahrenheit?
Answer: (a) 118.4
Explanation:
Monday +Tuesday + Wednesday =150
Tuesday +Wednesday +Thursday=156
Thursday=54
Then solving above
Wednesday + Tuesday=102
F=c*9/5 +32
F=48*9/5+32=118.4
Answer: (a) 118.4
Explanation:
Monday +Tuesday + Wednesday =150
Tuesday +Wednesday +Thursday=156
Thursday=54
Then solving above
Wednesday + Tuesday=102
F=c*9/5 +32
F=48*9/5+32=118.4
