The difference between P and T is 5. The difference between N and T is 3. What is the integer assigned to N? A. 7 B. 5 C. 4 D. 6 Correct Correct Answer : D Explanation: N= 6 P= 4 T= 9 difference between P & T is 5 i.e., T = 5 + 4 = 9 difference between N & T is 3 i.e., N = 9 – 3 = 6 So, integer assigned to N = 6 Incorrect Correct Answer : D Explanation: N= 6 P= 4 T= 9 difference between P & T is 5 i.e., T = 5 + 4 = 9 difference between N & T is 3 i.e., N = 9 – 3 = 6 So, integer assigned to N = 6

#### 2. Question

The letters L, M, N, O, P, Q, R, S and T in their order are substituted by nine integers 1 to 9 but not in that order. 4 is assigned to P. The difference between P and T is 5. The difference between N and T is 3. What is the integer assigned to N?

Correct Answer : D

Explanation:

difference between P & T is 5 i.e., T = 5 + 4 = 9

difference between N & T is 3 i.e., N = 9 – 3 = 6 So, integer assigned to N = 6

Correct Answer : D

Explanation:

difference between P & T is 5 i.e., T = 5 + 4 = 9

difference between N & T is 3 i.e., N = 9 – 3 = 6 So, integer assigned to N = 6

• Question 3 of 5 3. Question Ravi is 7 ranks ahead of Sumit in a class of 39. If Sumit’s rank is seventeenth from the last, what is Ravi’s rank from the start? A. 14th B. 15th C. 16th D. 17th Correct Correct Answer : C Answer Justification : Explanation: Sumit is 17th from the last and Ravi is 7 ranks ahead of sumit. So, Ravi is 24th from the last. Number of students ahead of Ravi in rank = (39 – 24) = 15. So, Ravi is 16th from the start. Incorrect Correct Answer : C Answer Justification : Explanation: Sumit is 17th from the last and Ravi is 7 ranks ahead of sumit. So, Ravi is 24th from the last. Number of students ahead of Ravi in rank = (39 – 24) = 15. So, Ravi is 16th from the start.

#### 3. Question

Ravi is 7 ranks ahead of Sumit in a class of 39. If Sumit’s rank is seventeenth from the last, what is Ravi’s rank from the start?

Correct Answer : C

Answer Justification :

Explanation:

Sumit is 17th from the last and Ravi is 7 ranks ahead of sumit. So, Ravi is 24th from the last.

Number of students ahead of Ravi in rank = (39 – 24) = 15. So, Ravi is 16th from the start.

Correct Answer : C

Answer Justification :

Explanation:

Sumit is 17th from the last and Ravi is 7 ranks ahead of sumit. So, Ravi is 24th from the last.

• Question 4 of 5 4. Question How many natural numbers up to 100 are not divisible by 3 or 7? A. 43 B. 57 C. 44 D. 67 Correct Correct Answer : B Explanation: Numbers divisible by 3 = 100/3 = 33 Numbers divisible by 7 = 100/7 = 14 Numbers divisible by 21 (LCM of 3 and 7) = 100/21 = 4 Total numbers divisible by 3 or 7 = 33 + 14 – 4 = 43 Total numbers which are not divisible by 3 or 7 = 100 – 43 = 57 Incorrect Correct Answer : B Explanation: Numbers divisible by 3 = 100/3 = 33 Numbers divisible by 7 = 100/7 = 14 Numbers divisible by 21 (LCM of 3 and 7) = 100/21 = 4 Total numbers divisible by 3 or 7 = 33 + 14 – 4 = 43 Total numbers which are not divisible by 3 or 7 = 100 – 43 = 57

#### 4. Question

How many natural numbers up to 100 are not divisible by 3 or 7?

Correct Answer : B

Explanation:

Numbers divisible by 3 = 100/3 = 33 Numbers divisible by 7 = 100/7 = 14

Numbers divisible by 21 (LCM of 3 and 7) = 100/21 = 4

Total numbers divisible by 3 or 7 = 33 + 14 – 4 = 43

Total numbers which are not divisible by 3 or 7 = 100 – 43 = 57

Correct Answer : B

Explanation:

Numbers divisible by 3 = 100/3 = 33 Numbers divisible by 7 = 100/7 = 14

Numbers divisible by 21 (LCM of 3 and 7) = 100/21 = 4

Total numbers divisible by 3 or 7 = 33 + 14 – 4 = 43

Total numbers which are not divisible by 3 or 7 = 100 – 43 = 57
