Context: India has achieved 20% ethanol blending in petrol by 2025—five years ahead of the original 2030 target. This milestone was announced by Union Petroleum Minister.
About Ethanol Blended Petrol Programme:
• What is the EBP Programme? The Ethanol Blended Petrol (EBP) Programme aims to blend ethanol with petrol to reduce reliance on fossil fuels, enhance energy self-sufficiency, and lower carbon emissions.
