Dubai, Abu Dhabi, UAE Iran War Today News Updates: After nearly a month of remote learning, Qatar has announced the resumption of in-person classes for school students. The Qatar Ministry of Education said all preparations have been completed at public and private schools to restart classroom sessions. In-person classes will begin on Sunday, March 29 as reported by Khaleej Times.

In fresh drone attacks in the Middle East, one port worker was injured on Saturday when UAVs hit the Salalah Port in southern Oman’s Dhofar province. Earlier, at least 12 US service members were injured in an Iranian attack on Prince Sultan Air Base in Saudi Arabia, a US official told CNN.

No service members were killed. Among the wounded, at least two suffered shrapnel injuries that were not considered life-threatening. Several others were also affected, but the exact nature of their injuries was not immediately known, according to another US official.

In Abu Dhabi, at least five Indian nationals sustained moderate to minor injuries after being struck by falling debris following the interception of a ballistic missile near Khalifa Economic Zones Abu Dhabi (KEZAD). Abu Dhabi Media office confirmed the incident on X, saying authorities were responding to a fire was caused by the “successful interception” of a ballistic missile by air defence systems.”

– The UN’s children’s agency (UNICEF) Friday warned against Israel’s offensive in Lebanon, saying it has trapped children there in a “relentless cycle of bombardment and displacement,” by disrupting access to education for hundreds of thousands of students.

– In addition to the two US aircraft carriers already in the region, the USS George H.W. Bush aircraft carrier is likely to be deployed to a region close to the ongoing conflict with Iran, a source familiar with the matter told CNN. The aircraft carrier will go to US Central Command’s area of responsibility, which includes the Middle East.

– Criticising European members of NATO for not backing the US during its ongoing war with Iran, Trump said it might scale back its spending. “I think a tremendous mistake was when NATO just wasn’t there,” he said on Friday.

Emirates Global Aluminium said its Al Taweelah site sustained damage during an Iranian attack on Abu Dhabi on March 28, as per a Reuters report.

Maersk, Danish shipping company said it has temporarily suspended all operations at Oman's Port of Salah following a drone attack. The attack injured one and damaged a crane.

Maersk's subsidiary APM Terminals who operates the port said, ""it was immediately evacuated and operations across the facility were temporarily suspended."

Ukraine and Qatar have signed a defence agreement that includes the exchange of expertise in countering missiles and unmanned aerial system. The deal was signed during the visit of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky to the country.

The UAE Ministry of Defence said its air defence system are currently engaging incoming missile and drone threats. It urged all residents to remain in safe places, adding that the sounds heard across are the result of ongoing defence operations.

The UAE Ministry of Defence said its air defences intercepted 37 UAVs and 20 ballistic missiles launched by Iran on Saturday, March 28.

Since the start of the conflict on February 28, UAE air defence systems have intercepted a total of 1872 UAVs, 15 cruise missiles and 398 ballistic missiles.

The Saudi Arabian Ministry of Defence announced that its air defences intercepted two drones in the past two hours.

Island Air announced that it will resume flight operations to and from Jeddah city via Qaisumah Airport. The airline will operate three flights per week starting from April 7.

Pakistan will host talks from Sunday on the US-Israel and Iran war. Foreign ministers from Saudi Arabia, Turkey, Egypt and Pakistan will discuss ways to reduce tensions in the region.

Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan told broadcaster A Haber on Friday that they "would discuss where the negotiations in this war are heading and how these four countries assess the situation and what can be done."

The Islamic Resistance in Iraq has attacked multiple air bases as well as an airport in Jordan, reports Al Jazeera. The Islamic Resistance is an umbrella group of Iran-backed armed groups.

The agency cited ' pro-militia news outlet Sabereen' and reported that the IR targeted the King Faisal Air Base, King Abdullah Air Base, Queen Alia Airport, Prince Hassan Air Base, and Muwaffaq Salti Air Base. However, the damage or confirmed hits was not mentioned.

Oman's Salalah Port has been targeted by drones, reports Reuters. The agency cited local media to report that one worker has been injured in the attack and a crane at the port also sustained damage.

The Salalah Port was established in 1998 and was ranked as the second most efficient container port in the world in 2021

The Bahrain government has urged citizens to take shelter from the drone and missile attacks. "The siren has been sounded. Citizens and residents are urged to remain calm and head to the nearest safe place," the Interior Ministry posted on X.
